The Jan Tinbergen Conference is the annual conference organised by NEPS since 2001.
The Jan Tinbergen Conference is interdisciplinary. There is continuing emphasis on research methods in peace science, but also papers dealing with all aspects of the peace science field, from pure abstract theory to practical applied research are accepted. As a guide to topics, please consider: (a) cooperation, deterrence, alliances and games, (b) game and related theory, (c) contest theory, (d) general equilibrium models of conflict and conflict management; (e) economic policies to cope with actual and potential conflicts; (f) mathematical approaches to conflict management, (g) mathematical models of arms races and wars, (h) empirical studies on the causes of wars and political violence; (i) the impact of conflicts and violence on welfare; (j) public policy aspects of both war-torn and post-conflict societies; (k) arms Control, government spending and international security; (l) trade disputes, trade wars and international economic sanctions; (m) critical economic aspects of the global crises.
